2014 2012 2010

27th of March 2010

11:00 - 16:30 h - the hall at the “Gdansk - the European Capital of Culture 2016” Office
Workshops in Literature and Plastic Arts
Young poets of freedom from chosen primary schools in Gdańsk write their own definition of the word FREEDOM in an attractive artistic form.

Children are to have a chance to become artists by writing their own poetry, interpreting modern poetry and paining poetry-inspired pictures during the workshops. Using the excerpts of some poems by the authors nominated to the European Poet of Freedom Award, the children are to create their own compositions and paint pictures presenting the world of poetry in their eyes. Together, we are also to make some considerations on the notion of freedom and how it is understood by children, after which we are to draw up ‘a tree of freedom’ to commemorate the event.

All the working materials are supplied by the organizer.
The workshops are intended mostly for ten-and-nine-year-old children.

The event is to be organised for three groups, 90 minutes for each group:
- the 1st group at 11:00 - 12:30;
- the 2nd group at 13:00 - 14:30;
- the 3rd group at 15:00 - 16:30.
